Help MSS Buy an Adapted/Accessible RV!

CHALLENGE MATCH: GIFTS DOUBLED!!

We have a match!  For over 20 years, we have had a dream to own a modified, fully accessible recreational vehicle. A vehicle like this would be a total game-changer in allowing the people in our programs - all of them - to fully access the larger community. Many people at MSS have barriers to full community inclusion due to their reliance on the specialized equipment/design of our buildings to have their needs met - ceiling lifts, private areas for rest and medical procedures, and accessible restrooms, to name a few. A modified RV would include all these adapted features and allow people access to more meaningful opportunities, regardless of their medical, physical, and personal needs.

We could travel to local festivals and act as a mobile art gallery. We could engage more deeply with events like the State Fair without having to rush back to the center after being there for a short time. We could be more spontaneous in the community and explore Minnesota in new ways. We could expand employment opportunities by having this vehicle parked near a job site if people need to access refrigerated medications or use the restroom.

You can help us make this dream a reality. An incredibly generous MSS family has offered to match donations up to $75,000 1:1 in honor of the memory of their son. If our amazing supporters can make that happen, we'll have the $150,000 we need for this vehicle - this game-changer.

We're not aware of another disability services program with a vehicle like this - we want to be the first, and we want this transformational idea to spread to other programs like ours.

We are committed to fostering an environment that is inclusive and welcoming for all. The RV will make it so much easier for everyone to truly engage in the community - more often, for longer periods of time, and with greater comfort and dignity.
